The Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics is part of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V. (MPG). We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This privacy statement will give you more information about the most important aspects of the data processing concerning our application procedure.

Purpose and legal basis of the data processing

The personal data you enter into our application portal, will only be processed for the purpose of your application for an employment relationship, an apprenticeship or a trainee relationship.

Fields marked with * are required fields and necessary for the application procedure. If you do not enter these fields, you cannot participate in the application procedure. The legal basis for saving these data is Art. 88 EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR.

Fields that are not marked with * can be filled in optionally. In case you have given your explicit consent for the processing of your personal data for these specific, optional purposes, the legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1a GDPR. A given consent can be withdrawn at any time, Art. 7 GDPR. In addition, we check your required data against sanctions lists of the currently binding EU regulations. This is processing that is necessary for the fulfillment of a legal obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO).

Recipient of the data

Your personal data is processed within the scope of order processing on systems of Haufe-umantis AG. The Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, as responsible entity, can only access your data as far as it is required for the internal task division of the application procedure. Your personal data can be accessed by employees of the personnel department and secretaries. They will forward your data to the specific selection committee for the vacancy in question. This selection committee can also consist of external committee members who might receive your data as well. Your data will not be passed on to any third parties.

Storage period
Your data will be stored on the systems of Haufe-umantis AG for 6 months after the end of the application procedure, in case it is necessary for legal prosecution to protect our legitimate interests in asserting or defending claims based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
If you give your explicit consent to the inclusion of your data in our applicant pool, your data will be stored for a maximum of 1 year.

Rights of the person concerned
You can view, change or delete the data you entered into the application portal at any time, by accessing it with your personal credentials.

You have the right of access to your data, Art. 15 GDPR, the right to rectification of inaccurate personal data, Art. 16 GDPR, the right to erasure of the data, Art. 17 GDPR, as well as the right to restriction of processing, Art. 18 GDPR, and data portability, Art. 20 GDPR. A given consent can be withdrawn at any time, Art. 7 GDPR.
